The Trailer Contest is one of the many tools in Amazon Studios’ creative development process. In this iteration of the contest, we’re looking to you to create trailers of our comedy project I THINK MY FACEBOOK FRIEND IS DEAD. Unlike traditional trailers used for marketing completed films, these trailers are in essence your take on what you’d like the movie to ultimately become.

The film concept could take a few different creative paths – it’s up to you to create your ideal vision of the movie. Your trailers can utilize existing footage from the project, or create new footage to convey your vision of the film (live action, animation, or even an animatic/storyboard). A successful trailer will:

  • Portray the film as either a road-trip style comedy, or a contemporary romantic comedy.
  • Communicate the basic plot and outline the primary characters.
  • Convey the quirky and satirical tone of the script.
  • Establish a contemporary style.

Summary of Key Contest Rules

  • Your entry must be a movie trailer based on the script “I Think My Facebook Friend is Dead,” available at http://studios.amazon.com/projects/5046.
  • You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you reside).
  • Your trailer must complete its upload and processing by 11:59 PM Pacific Time on the last day of the contest entry period. This could take hours, and possibly more than a day, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time.
  • Only trailers between 1 and 6 minutes long are eligible for contest awards.
