revision of the excellent "Children of Others" - if you have alredy read and want to see my take on things please feel free to give it a read -
respectfully, Jim.
Congrats you're now on the Development Slate! And not only that but Ed Saxon is attached. Amazing stuff!
But on more serious note - isnt it unfair to Barrington that when people click on her script they now get to see your draft as her latest version? No doubt its now your draft that people will be downloading and unless they read previous they are not going to know who did what on the script. Good for you but not for Barrington. I think thats just fckd up!
Why is this script now set to "closed"?
"unless they read previous drafts..."
You offered to make commoents, and I gave you a concept for "12 Princesses."
Nada. Nothing.
So, respectfully, I decline. Not interested. Premise doesn't grab me at all.
Having a producer attached is an important step.
It sure would be nice if there was a report on what the Producer asked for...
Same goes for "Origin of a Species" which won the annual prize and a meeting with Warner Bros execs.

How did you manage to "revise" a Closed project?
Clever strategy, "revising" winning scripts. That's a new one.
"And as you are both aware this attempt used your very last viable embryos."
If they're both aware of that, then the Doctor doesn't need to say it. Info dump from the writer. If you're going to be bold enough to say you've improved the writing of a winner that went straight to the Development list, you've got to really polish dialogue and everything.
I took a look at the second draft..
what I see is, all set-up and no payoff. In the notes, says it was meant as a pilot for a TV series. Like "Falling Skies" with Noah Wyle on TNT?
The goal of story is, to teach us something about ourselves using aliens as a plot device.
We learn there's aliens... but instead of some insight or wisdom, we learn that aliens are breeding human hybrids as fighters because, apparently, humans aren't combative enough. And tha's it?
Can't really see going forward with this.

@ R.P.
Held up by their balls AND flogged?
Double jeopardy, my friend. :)
Geez, I'm glad the author doesn't feel the same - lol!
As written above: "if you have already read and want to see my take on things please feel free to give it a read."
Have a real nice day guys,
Jim.
jimmyjamster -- how do you know how the author feels.? her script is marked "closed" for a reason.
Well, like Lauri's rewrite of ZvG she's hoping that some of her tweaks will be a part of Clive's version you can hope that some of your tweaks will be a part of COO if it ever gets greenlit.
Write on!
Lisa, were you one of the 3 who downloaded?
no. i never read the first one, so i wouldn't know what you brought to the table anyway.
2 downloads within the past 24 hours - I hope one of whom leaves a constructive review to help the author progress her story toward a production...
Okay, so I started this thread 19 days ago - got some snipes for having the audacity to put a revision of - at the time - an 'open' project but still no 'actual' reviews based on my constructive input...
In the immortal words of Diana Ross: "I'm Still waiting..."
