Just wondering -- is there any incentive to rewrite other people's work here any more?
ie - if someone rewrites a script and it advances to the "development" slate will that rewriter be entitled to any of the option money or are they just giving their time to AS and the OW?
I would think if AS is advancing the rewrite there would be some compensation to that person. I believe it’s mentioned somewhere in the rules.
No, there's no incentive.
The incentive would be to have a screen credit. If the script were to be shot with minimal revisions. And if the production is through a WGA signatory production company what comes with screen credits is residuals.
I agree its a risk, but you never know.
i wish AS would open the door to more rewrites for their projects in "development"... at least as "opportunities" like the FB & 12P scripts. let us choose which projects we'd like to work on and then pitch them for the assignment.
i'm not one for rewriting others people's work (like jamster), but this place is really getting boring. all the excitement and enthusiasm from last year is gone! their 2nd act needs a pick-me-up quick.
Lisa 99.999% of HW sp's are re-written - several times over
= you no wanna re-write - you no gonna get a chance to write...
So I'll keep on - keeping on with the' sp's which are 'open' for such re-writes - even if it means p'in off the 'usual suspects' from time to time ;-)

but HW rewrites are paid. and credit. that's the difference.
yes AS "had" some rewrite opportunities, but i was just wondering if there was more incentive than those 2 specific assignments.
