Matthew, this sounds like such a good story. Have you pitched this to any of the big Hollywood studios before? And here's an idea, what would it take for Clint Eastwood to get involved? I remember him saying recently that there weren't many roles for older male actors. He'd be perfect for role of 'ol Richardson! What child actors would you want in the three leads?
I've pitched it to a few companies, but I really wanted Malpaso to pick it up. Like you stated Cole, it would be wonderful to get Clint Eastwood's buy-in. He's a wonderful actor and director. If he took the role of Richardson, he would effectively be reprising the role of Morris from his 1970's Escape from Alcatraz. I know it sounds gimmicky, but why not? He was perfect for the role back then, and he's perfect for it now. It would round out that character, and give Clint an opportunity to show how people/characters change over time, in some ways nobody would expect.
In regards to child actors, I was originally thinking about Dakota Fanning for Celine, but now she's a little older and I don't know if she'd even like to play such a young role anymore. I think this would be an opportunity for some up-and-comers. Just my two cents. Thanks for your input!
