I love the idea, it definitely has the potential to be a great film I think.
Thanks for the nice thoughts about Gift Card. Really happy it made the consider list.
I found Gift Card really entertaining, and read it all in one sitting. The premise is simple but engaging, the events leading up to the conclusion entertaining, and the ending satisfying within the context of the story.
A few points to consider: the idea that the protagonist and his collaborators in business had, all along, the potential to realize their dreams is weakened by the "deus ex machina" of the viral internet event -- a good deed by the mysterious providers of the card. This does not spoil the movie for me, but it is arguably a mistake if you want to send out a particular message about human potential for success.
Gift Card is probably an archetypal story -- a mysterious gift that changes lives in unexpected ways. Were you conscious of any archetype when creating the screenplay?
All in all, this is a very nice, taut screenplay, and I think the movie can be a wonderful four-sector dramedy. I expect to see it in theaters some day. Good luck!
The concept is very similar to Stephen King's Typewriter of the Gods, in which a stuggling writer discovers that whatever he writes on his typewriter comes true, so he writes about killing his wife. I haven't read the script yet, but your premise/concept is very good and very apt for the current economic situation. Good luck with this project.

What a GREAT CONCEPT Mr. Corey! I love high concept ideas as a fellow writer of the same vein myself. Good luck and I would LOVE to see this one in theater. It would be a PG-13 box office smash!
