Bellflower is a movie that came out last year in 2011. It's an independent film about two buddies building a flamethrower and Mad Max car for the end of the world. A tale about life and how love goes wrong. This is not for the kids at all. It reminds me of a blend of Pulp Fiction, True Romance and the Road Warrior. This is a good movie.
Have you seen this film? What did you think about it?
Without giving too much away...didn't you think that after everything was said and done that it was a cop-out. It could have been a great critique on obsessive fanboy/fangirl culture taking their social cues from the films they watch.....instead of being a mopey boo-hoo " my girlfriend dumped me" flick.
I will say that I'd like to see this guy invent more cameras and lenses. He probably has a technical Academy Award in his future.
Plus it was fun, after our screening, to have the creator rev up the Medusa outside the theater and blow flames out it. (They did it cautiously as to not freak out the traffic on Beverly Blvd.)
Great Trailer (although misleading)
That is great stuff Dosch. I agree it could have been more but the director is still a baby in the biz and I think he did a great job. I also agree that he may have an award in the future for a new camera or something he creates.
I was not impressed. It wasn't horrible is the best I can say, but I did watch it all. I do think the last half should apologize to the first half. It seems like they were kinda making up the story as they went along. Bitching car though, obviously the director's a car guy.
I did get the vibe during the Q & A that he used the film as a front to get money to build the car. Way too much budget was funneled into it for something that was a tangential prop.
The film was "Chasing Amy" meets "Antichrist"....with a cool car.
"Mr Director you wanna make 'Fast & Furious 12'" ;-)
It had that grimy feel to it like in Strange Days. I thought they did a nice job with it. have you seen any movies along those lines, kind of crazy adventure?
check out The Aggression Scale.
The Aggression Scale was good?
The Aggression Scale was the best film i saw all year. ultraviolent version of home alone is the best way to discribe it.
but if you want something that involves cool cars and action, check out Transit. stars Jim Caviezel, super cool film.
