Ok so we already have numerous collaborators for the script so far named "12 Lessons" in which a fathers life is shown as he gives his son the "father to sons speech".
Drama, action and romance set the scene for the film as the father learns who he truly is through the decades of his life.
If you think this sounds like something you may be interested in let me know :)

A Participant says:
If Andrew participates ... does that count as three?
No no it does not... .3 maybe
I think a father should tell his son...
take the girl to bed. Don't worry about her misgivings. When it stops working, move on.
Until you've been to bed with 100 women, you have no idea what kind of woman you want to marry.
I think you should also advise the father to tell his daughter to go to bed with 100 men before deciding on marriage. You know. So that she's sure what kind of man she wants too.
Then its sure to work out.
A Participant says:
Fathers suck. I know. I am one.
A Participant says:
Dad?
lt's me, Dad. Hal.
Glad you're here, kiddo.
Got a few things to tell ya.
First, l want you to promise that no matter what you do in life,
you will never ever settle for average.
Yes, sir.
Second, don't be satisfied with routine poontang.
Don't do what l did.
l married for love, and your mother Betty has been a nightmare.
But, Dad, Mom's name is Marian.
Listen to me. l'm giving you pearls here.
And third, find yourself
a classic beauty with a perfect can, and great totties.
That will put you in good stead
with the Lord. lt's all in here.
Yes, sir.
Hot young tail's what it's all about.
Hot young tail.
l'll make you proud, Papa.

Awe poor Tony! did you ever stop to think that to at least one person in this world you are the greatest person alive?
Along the same lines as Saving Private Ryan for the action and drama, the romance is optional at the moment but given that it shows the key points in his life one would assume it shows how the son was brought into this world.
Era is currently undecided but leaning towards the near future (not Total Recall) after humans have basically destroyed Earth.

Okay, Ben. If that's the setting, you need to include that in your log line. That's the hook right there. It goes from "drama? No!" to "hey, that sounds cool "
That could be a great way to explore this cool new world, and explore these characters. To really make it sing, it needs a compelling story (plot) to hang it on. Like Saving Rryan's Privates, it wasn't a guy talking about his life, it was a mission with an objective. If you can find a compelling plot, this could be an amazing way to tell the story.
A Participant says:
If the era is in the near future, the father could relay his stories in some sort of a video time capsule on the internet that the son could watch and get lost into the computer screen as we blend back and forth in time. Maybe a little like how Titanic was told except with youtube?
the compelling plot is in the reason as to why the father is giving his son these lessons, this is for the writers to know as I dont want to give away too many details as of yet.
Roy... I'm pretty sure youtube wont still be running if humans have destroyed earth as we know it, think book of Eli, terminator salvation minus the robots.
So I take it we have no takers from you lot then
Well, you've got me thinking. The initial pitch didn't interest me, but I DO love me some post-apocalypse setting...
Andy,
going to bed with 100 women will make sure the kid can never be married. Sex in one way two people bond with each other. And good sex happens when two people have been together long enough to appreciate what pleases the other. And, finally, as most males discover to their horror, after you have been married a few years, the best way to show your wife you love her is to not have sex as much as you want it.
But anyone who builds their marriage around sex is not married at all.
Christian,
Do you have any written works I would be able to have a look at to see if you would meld with the group ie writing style etc?
@Calvin,
Good sex happens when two people with intense sexual chemistry come into contact with one another, this has nothing to do with marriage. Though myself I am an atheist so I fall far from the "sex after marriage" concept I can understand the build up to the moments they can finally share with each other that they have made the decision to not share their body with anyone else etc.
Marriage should never be based on sex, children or religious beliefs.
I digress... we are not here to talk religion, politics or any other irrelevant subjects we are here to discuss the potential of creating cinematic magic.
