The story moves chronologically. I've been experimenting with starting the script from the moment where the trucker sees Jason fall onto the road, but can't find a suitable way to go back and retell the first two scenes before that.
Any thoughts on this, or would you keep the script as is?
In my rewrite, I'm planning on changing the opening to:
1) Establish Pacific Northwest forest. Night. Then Jason, bloody neck and all, stumbles into the scene, fleeing something.
Frantic escape. He finally stumbles onto logging road and nearly gets hit by trucker.
Trucker takes him to hospital, etc.
At end of film flashback to camping scene (original scene 1) which shows how Jason got infected with rabies.
Additionally, remove early images of Vincent from script to keep his identity under wraps.
2) Start film with truck driver who nearly runs over Jason. Jason, bleeding and babbling, barely conveys that he was attacked in the forest and his girlfriend got attacked too.
Move scene 1 to end of movie, and also remove early Vincent sightings.
