Hello Robert,
First let me start off by saying, I am a huge fan of your show, the 'Walking Dead' and the zombie genre in general. I love the classic 'Dawn of the Dead' film and consider it the best zombie movie ever made. I am excited for Season 3 and already own seasons one and two for my personal collection.
Now for the real stuff, we all caught the 'Talking Dead' show after the marathon and saw you breaking Chris Hardwick's chops a little bit and you came off as a bit of a jerk. What do you have to say about that? During the LIVE broadcast of the show, there was no editor present to help the situation, maybe on re-runs. Don't get too full of yourself or Hollywood will drop you like a bad habit. Look around at the great shows and see for yourself. You are on top of the world now swimming with sharks. Here are my questions for you.
You seem very uncomfortable during interviews and I know how difficult it must be to keep a secret and try to grab an audiences attention with teasers. Have you ever considered taking a public speaking course?
You are clearly a genius and someone who will make the jump to films rather easily I expect. Keep close tabs on that crew and others you meet in the biz, build your book up now. People don't understand the 14-16 hour days the cast and crew put in, any advice for those who think it's easy to be in show biz?
Do you enjoy collaborating with other writers or do you prefer to write by yourself? Did you collaborate with other writers when you first started out until you knew the process, then went off on your own? Did you start writing by yourself form the very beginning?
How much did it cost to make seasons one and two of Walking Dead? What is the budget for season three? How many more years will be negotiated on in the new contract? I hope 3 more seasons minimum.
If any other AS members have questions for Robert, you can feel free to ask them here. I wish the Walking Dead show nothing but success and nice 10 year long run on AMC.
Thanks,
Robert D
