The Main People who watch TV are middle class and lower middle class. They make the main majority of people who watch TV. They won't watch this.” Paul Dexon.

Mr. Dexon raises a point that I feel our group would like to touch upon. I’m presuming that Mr. Dexon feels this way about our show because our main character Max James is so far portrayed as a rich jerk. Well he is, but for a particular reason. We want to see if our main character can progress to change for the better so that he can make an impact in college politics and for everyday college students. In a way we want to mimic real life politics. Countless times we encounter stories of politicians who seem oblivious to the concerns of his or her middle and low class constituents. We want to see if something different happens to Max James when he surrounds himself with normal everyday college students (Alicia, Zach, Norman, Stacey, and even Alfred).

Another determining factor into the possible transformation of our main character is actual REAL college life experiences/stories. We want to deal with issues that concern modern college students (loan debt, increase tuition rates, malnutrition, racial issues, disability access, academia (the positives and major concerns), and array of other issues that students confront daily. We want to prove that a college based show does not have to only revolve around frat parties to make it funny.

Our main goal is to make people laugh, of course, and we feel good story telling and comedy can be one in the same. We also think that this dichotomy of the different classes is very relevant to the times we are living in. That’s why we are basing this show through a student election/campaign, because these issues can be touched upon when a person is trying to become the Student Body President, while applying a heavy dose of comedy along the way. Rest assured, we have a plan that goes beyond the first season’s bible, it’s just that we don’t want to reveal everything so we can still have the element of surprise. I hope this addresses the issue, and we thank Mr. Dexon for bringing up this concern.
Sincerely,
Jaime Gongora- Writer for Max James
