a ship almost twice the size of an American air craft carrier with missiles armed with Nuclear and Biological warheads and boosters for distance,

15 MiG fighters, 300 soldiers willing to fight for Allah, and the Jihad.

on its way to destroy America

First, if there was a ship armed with nuclear missiles, the US Navy would have no choice but to sink it immediately.

If you have anything you want to tell us about "Morpheus Rising" , I started a new thread for you.

The logistics are unfeasible. I think I mentioned that on the original thread. I doubt the US Navy could build such a craft in the time mentioned in the synopsis, let alone a failing Iraqi government. Also, hiding it would be far more difficult than the writer realises.

The idea itself could have legs (albeit shaky ones) if the logistics were tweaked. Like, if it was commissioned before the Iraq war and built far away from Iraq itself. And maybe the Russians or North Koreans helped along with - possibly - the Iranians who could have helped hide it. There are still hundreds of holes to poke in it, but I'd say those are the principle problems.

I did hesitate before commenting here as I'm not going to get involved in completely rewriting the concept. I just think tweaking the initial setup would help get it off the ground. As for the effectiveness of the ship, that's the another problem. I'm pretty sure the US could nuke it themselves before it got too close - stealth or not, as soon as they know it's in their waters, they have the capability to take action, so I guess that tactical issue needs emphasising too.

One hunter killer sub would sink it before it ever left port - period.

The Trinity Project had been in experimentation and sea trials for three years prior to being put into action against Morpheus.

The hiding of the Morpheus project starts out as a disguised archaeological dig. All done by shovels at night. As the dig progressed, camouflage was added. This was done using normal trucks loaded with dirt then carried into town for gardens etc. After seven years of this covert digging, larger size trucks were bringing in different things and leaving with dirt.
I have never been to Iraq so I did take a few liberties on the terrain and feasibility. I did use Google earth a lot during my writing.

I was under the impression that the U.S weren't everywhere in Iraq and wouldn't have thought that much of trucks with dirt in them, especially in a desolate section of a piece of land right against the gulf. I could have been wrong on my thinking.

Morpheus started out as a revenge project and things were going great until the towers were hit and all of the sudden Saddam is in the middle of a war. This was a progression of things Saddam had going as what he considered pay back for America getting into what he thought was none of our business. His attack on Kuwait.

Reading the script without thinking of all the parameters that exist in a synopsis is a better way to find out the answer to these questions or have them answered. I have actually read four scripts on this site without ever looking at the synopsis of any of them.

Jamster.
If Morpheus was just an ordinary ship I would agree with you but I made Morpheus as a very special ship with beyond state of the art devices. The special jamming devices Morpheus uses hide it from sonar and radar and the stealth coating helps to hide it from satellite. It sits six feet above and sixty feet long in the water when it is in the open sea. it uses a misting system as a screen to telecast the ocean, also hiding it from satellite. It stands five stories above water when in full speed and in battle mode.
I hope this helped.

The ship sounds great!

But as far as detection - everything gives off its own signature and it would be tracked.

Maybe the ship has a complement of defensive subs?

I also agree with Ant, in regard the feasibility and it needs to be really worked out - I know just how difficult it is to build a ship even in broad daylight not to mention the amount of fitting out - training - sea trails needed just to make sure it 'works' - let alone be operable.

But it is a work of fiction - not fact and as writers we all make leaps of faith/imagination along the way - all I'm saying is, like Ant; make it as feasible as possible.

All the best with your project, Jim.

Thanks Jamster.
What I should do is add Sci-fi. to the genre. A/A/SI-FI
I saw your list of scripts....Damn. Thank you.
for your very valuable 2 cents to this(started for me) thread.
I started my one and only thread the day after I put my first script on here.
I was new and it said I had won 2 Premise wars.
I thought this was an award that was not mine that I did not deserve.
I learned quickly how big of a deal this was not.
I made the mistake of contributing to Andrews thread and the arsehole that he is
started this thread for me so I would stay out of his.
