I've asked Amazon over a week ago but have yet to get an answer. Does anyone know if you were to write a revision of the Franklin script and it were taken into Development would you receive payment for your work?
The way I read it only the original author receives compensation but that doesn't seem right. Why would a writer waste their time on a revision if they had no chance to be paid?
Anyone know?

The contest was over a long time ago. I assume they're developing with either the winner or the original writer.... if at all...
And if they won't answer you, we certainly can't read their minds.
And you're right - under the new set-up, why WOULD a writer waste time revising someone else's script?
Best bet is to contact the original writer and contest winner and find out what's up with the project from them.
It's on the notable list so its not currently being actively developed.
But according to the agreement, if AS purchases or options the script only the original writer would be compensated and it would be up to the original writer to share the wealth.
That's what I read in to it. Problem is I read it after I was half-way through the revision with a totally original concept that could have been a continuing protagonist.
I hate to lose what I've written so maybe I'll either change Franklin to someone else or something. What a bummer.

Well if you rewrite it and submit to AS and the purchase it, you may not get the paid for the purchase, but if they shoot the movie as written you will receive writing credits. That could equal residuals.
I thought it was on the consider list, not in development.
No. If I rewrite it I won't submit it here unless someone here tells me I'd get paid for it if they do take it to Development.
Finally got an answer to my question. It simply said, "Read the guidelines." Guidelines say, "No money for revisions not made by the original author."
Maybe I'll make Ben Franklin, "Spartacus."
