My word, if they got a thousand proposals in I hope they've got more than one reader. Can you imagine how much you'd probably hate this project if you had to read even a hundred proposals for it? I hope mine's not the one the poor soul had in their hand when they finally couldn't take it any more and scribbled their suicide note on the back of it.
I'm assuming there have been other script requests whose recipients haven't posted the news to this board. I can't imagine that AS would only choose one proposal (though it's good news for Jason if they did.)
I keep checking my inbox, but I haven't gotten mine, yet.
I'm keeping hope alive for a few more days...
I'm keeping hope alive until they announce that there's been a writer hired! lol
Looks like the opportunity has passed us all by. But at least we had a chance that cost us nothing but a little time. I've been screenwriting for 11 years and Amazon is the only website I've come across that gives writers with no connections a chance to make some money and maybe even a movie. So don't give up. If you don't play you'll never have a chance of winning. Plus the more you write the more you learn and the better you get.

@ James - I wouldn't assume that until the 45 days is up.
just for the record i didn't apply but...
when is that 45 days up?
do they not have a decision date?
i know, stupid questions b/c AS keeps a lot of things up in the air so they're not trapped into decisions.
The deadline was May 14, I think - so around July 1.
I hope you're right, Lauri. I would enjoy very much being wrong.
yep, June 28th would be 6 weeks on the nose, so if nothing by July 1 I wouldn't hold out much hope...
I have my calendar marked for June 28th. The finale of the
contest date. But, things look promising for Justin and I.
We hope we can stay in the finals, to input our screenplay.

Hey, Jason, congrats on moving on to the next phase! Best of luck.
I'm sorry but I've looked everywhere and I haven't found one word that said anyone has moved to any phase anywhere, and it's hard to believe only one person from both scripts has received any word at all some four weeks before the six weeks we were all told would occur.
Why don't you copy and paste your mail from Amazon on the board here Mr. Franklin so we can all read it?
jc
Hello!
We very much enjoyed your rewrite proposal for 12 PRINCESSES and would like to move you onto the next phase: the writing sample.
Please email ONE feature length screenplay that you would like us to consider to __@amazon.com. Please be sure to type your name, and "12 PRINCESSES" in the email subject line. The sample must be a properly formatted, fully realized screenplay. Anything else will not be considered. If you have several scripts you could offer as samples, try and pick the one that most closely resembles the tone of your proposed rewrite. Acceptable file formats are PDF and RTF.
We look forward to hearing from you.
I could also email you a snapshot of the email, then again, I really don't care what you think.
Cheers James.
Good enough. That's real and that's all I wanted. Good luck to you.
jc
They requested a script from us on June 1st.
Thanks for this and good luck to all who are moving ahead. I'd be curious what kind of writing sample one would submit to represent "tone." I like the way they are doing this.
Alex, we proposed a page one rewrite that differed significantly in tone from the original. I can email you the script we sent along as a writing sample if you'd like.
Yeah, go ahead and send me a snapshot of the email, and maybe send over a blood sample too! Lol!
No, just joking. Congrats with the writing sample.
