I wasn't too sure about Hancock when I first saw the movie but...
after seeing it again on TV I thought of all the 'superzero' films out there it deserves a sequel :-)
Agree. I flop in the DVD every so often and sit back and enjoy the rerun.
The first two-thirds is great, but then it sort of goes off the rails, in my opinion.
On IMDB it says its been announced.
Meh. Been a while, but I don't recall hating it. I guess if they made another I'd watch it, but if not I don't think it would matter.
Took a lot of work to make the audience hate Will Smith... but this movie accomplished that for the protagonist.
Horrible piece of crap movie that deserves nothing but to be forgotten.
A Participant says:
I enjoyed that movie a lot.
It seemed to me that it was two very good films gelled together... and not quite working.
@ JC
I'm all for the sequel... even though -- like you say -- it wasn't quite working. I kinda agree.
Oddly enough it was way better than I first remembered it.
It's one of story those stories that works better when you know the story already... if that makes sense. It doesn't spoil the ride... just makes it more understandable. And sequels... well that gets over having to know/understand the story already :-)
Blah blah i got tongue tied. haha. Hmmm I'm sure you know what i mean.
Karl, I also liked it. Definitely. I just felt that there was serious disparity between the setup of the film and the payoff. I would not be against a sequel. I would much rather see a Hancock 2 than, say, a Transformers 4
I'm in the crowd that says the film was pretty great until Will and Charlize started throwing each other around.
I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel to Hancock.
Or maybe even a prequel
40% on RT:

But it did do $227 mill domestic:

However... cost of a WS superhero flick would likely be like $150 mill and $100 mill to market.
MIB3 did okay b.o., not great. Don't see HANCOCK 2 happening.
The only thing putting me off MIB3 (apart from MIB2) is that Tommy Lee Jones seems to have a significantly reduced role in it
This is actually my favorite Will Smith movie. Any actor who can make a jerk likeable. Still, the whole thing with Charlize Theron. Lame. Going through the motions. Looking for a way to finish a movie without making it something memorable and profound. They ought to do a sequel just to redeeem the bad ending.
It was entertaining until the Theron reveal. Then, nothing made any sense at all. And the climactic "battle" in the hospital was a cringer.
