Amazon Studios is looking for one or more writers or writing teams to rewrite "It Came in the Mail," a script currently in active development at Amazon Studios. This is a heartfelt comedy project with great potential.

As you contemplate how you'd rewrite the script, feel free to add, remove or change characters, settings, names, and scenes; rework these if it serves to better tell your version of the story. Both live-action and animated takes will be considered. Please be sure to keep it a family-friendly comedy (rated G to PG-13) and to hold on to the core premise.

Amazon Studios is looking for one or more writers or writing teams to rewrite “Leon,” a script currently in active development at Amazon Studios. This is a heartfelt comedy script with great potential.

The current draft has many excellent qualities, but we’d like to show more of how Sam redeems himself, as well as tell the story from Sam’s point of view. While Leon (Sam’s guardian angel) is pretty amusing, we think he should serve either as a supporting character or more as a deus ex machina device that gets the story started. Either is fine as long as Sam is the lead character, a protagonist with a strong arc. As you contemplate how you’d rewrite the script, feel free to add, remove or change characters, settings, names, and scenes; rework these if it serves to better tell your version of the story. We do want you to keep it a comedy, and to hold on to the core premise.

Artwork assignment, up to $3,000

Amazon Studios is looking for an animation character designer or comic book artist to create original character designs for For Sale By Superhero, a family comedy project currently in active development at Amazon Studios. These character designs will be made available for use by directors and storyboard artists applying for an upcoming For Sale By Superhero animatic test movie Open Directing Assignment.

Five artists engaged by Amazon Studios will initially receive $300 per character to create up to three designs (up to a total of $900); of those five artists, one will be selected to move forward with three additional designs at a rate of $300 per character. If a test movie utilizing those character designs goes into production, that designer can earn an additional $1,200 for four more designs.

To be considered, you must submit your portfolio, in a single PDF-format document, at least 150dpi, and no larger than 50mb. It should include all of the following:

• Art Samples – A selection of your past work that best communicates your suitability for this assignment. You may additionally include a link to your online portfolio.

While the script has many excellent qualities, we'd like to develop a scarier villain with a defined plan, a more proactive hero, a compelling romance, more defined princesses, and a richer fairytale world. The rewrite should address and build upon our story notes, which you can view in the project forum. You can find the script on the script page.

Your Writer’s Proposal should include all of the following:

• Creative Vision (up to 1 page): This should be a short overview of how you’d like to approach the script. Considering the story notes we’ve provided, what’s your take on this material? How do you want to address the issues indicated? What changes would you want to make? What is the tone?
• Characters (up to 2 pages): Describe changes you’d make to the characters, including changes to the characters’ arcs, their backstory and their relationship to one another. Make sure to discuss new characters you’d add or existing characters you’d remove.

Submit a written pitch of no more than 8000 characters (around 1500 words) detailing the script you’d like to write based on the premise of ORIGINAL SOLDIERS. The pitch can be in beat sheet, outline, or narrative format, as long as it fully details the story you want to tell from beginning to end, including the plot, characters, and tone.
