I chose to shoot this teaser for Deadlines in Super-8 to reflect the grittiness and suspense of the script.
Deadlines
After receiving a mysterious phone call, two reporters travel to a small Appalachian town to investigate the disappearance of thirty people. They soon find the vanishings have a terrifying cause and must fight for their lives to escape before they become the next victims.

Synopsis:
Leslie Cain and David Rossing are two reporters for a city news site, The National Watch. Both are desperate for a news story more important than the latest celebrity gossip. After a mysterious phone call alerting them of thirty disappearances in the small Appalachian town of Briar Creek, they get more than they bargained for.
Arriving in Briar Creek, Leslie and David find very few people in town and none willing to confirm the rash of vanishings. It isn't until the night falls that Leslie meets local sheriff Robert Clark who knows the cause of what is plaguing his town. A vampire named Nathan Coldiron has nested in Briar Creek and is feeding on the citizens of the town and turning a select few into more of his kind.
Unfortunately, as Leslie learns the truth from the sheriff David is lured into the vampire's nest and encounters Nathan and his recruits. Sheriff Clark and Leslie storm the lair of the undead to rescue David. As they battle the creatures they receive assistance from an unlikely source, one of the vampires named Nick Bowlder--the first townsperson to be turned by Nathan.
In the final confrontation, only one human and one vampire survive. But will the world learn of the undead plague threatening its existence?

Creative Notes:I wanted to tell a story in a familiar horror sub-genre (vampires) that interjected a mysterious quality back into the fabled monster. This script contains plenty of horror and action for fans of the genre looking to find something outside of current films that focus more on gothic romance.
