SYNOPSIS: Five years after the death of Arthur the disgraced knight LANCELOT DULAC returns to a dying Britain. He visits the wizard MERLIN who gives him the shocking news that MORDRED - usurper and murderer of King Arthur - still lives, and occupies the throne of Britain. Dulac swears revenge.

Merlin gives Dulac Arthur’s broken sword Caliburn - the sword replaced by Excalibur - and tells him to gather the last surviving Knights of Camelot.

Dulac finds his former friend CONSTANTINE working as a blacksmith. The only thing that stops Constantine from killing the betrayer of Arthur is the sight of Caliburn, and his even greater hatred of Mordred. Constantine reforges the broken sword and the two knights seek out GAWAIN, who, although now a monk, agrees “to do the Devil’s work against the Devil himself.”

The three knights travel to Devil’s Keep fortress, the home of Mordred’s two sons. They besiege the castle and find, in the fortress dungeon, nine captured knights; close to starvation, but hungry for revenge.

The twelve knights fight their way across Britain, facing legions of Mordred’s soldiers. Mordred, meanwhile, has struck a deal with AELLE, king of the Saxons: in return for a share of his kingdom - a thousand Saxon warriors.

The knights do battle with the Saxons until Dulac and Constantine are the only men left standing. They reach Mordred’s castle and the badly injured Dulac challenges Mordred to trial-by-combat.

Dulac kills Mordred but is mortally wounded himself. Constantine returns Dulac's body and Caliburn to Merlin as the land begins to flourish once more.
