An ordinary corporate employee is actually an alien who had ten years to conquer the Earth -- but he's been so beaten-down trying to climb the corporate ladder that he's wasted nearly all of his time. Now he only has a few days left to take over the entire planet.

Synopsis: ZACH GRANNIX is a man with a secret: He's an alien. Ten years ago he was sent to Earth to conquer it – more as a research project than anything else, really – and his deadline is almost up. Unfortunately, he inserted himself into a corporate legal department and has become so beaten down by cubicle life that he's almost forgotten who he really is.

Zach's wake-up call comes when his co-workers surprise him with a 10th anniversary party a week early. Confronted with the fact that his ten years are almost up, he is shocked into remembering. He confides in a co-worker, MARIA, who is herself so jaded that she hardly flinches at the revelation. Together, they set off on a bold plan to conquer the Earth in less than a week.

Zach's plan, which involves blackmailing Mono-Mart, the world's largest retailer, almost works. But the plan falls apart when Zach discovers that in the ten years he's been earthbound, the alien presence on Earth has been much greater than he realized – in fact, nearly all the big corporations are malevolent extraterrestrial creations! The aliens keep 'docilator' machines in operation near every corporate headquarters, instilling a depressed, defeatist attitude in all of their employees in order to keep them working under horrible conditions – which is why Zach lost track of his mission in the first place.

Zach and Maria are fired for their role in Zach's scheme, but they mount a desperate, last-ditch attempt to take out the docilator at their company and get Zach's plan back on track. After a narrow, hilarious success, Zach elects to remain on Earth and rides off into the sunset with Maria.

    Creative Notes:
Anyone who has ever worked in a cubicle can understand that you lose track of who you are and what your goals were after long enough in the corporate beehive. This script pushes that notion to its absolute limit. The story is informed by my own experiences in a corporate legal department (But I'm not an alien, really).
