Synopsis: When a gun goes missing at school, the rivalry between two gangs explodes and threatens to destroy a young couple and a teacher’s dream. “The Missing Dillinger” is a Shakespearean drama written in hip hop prose of today’s teens. Set over 24-hours at a Bronx high school and neighborhood, the missing pistol begins making its way around from friend to enemy, with each person using it for different reasons.

Raquel and Devon are getting married right after high school. Devon is an all-state basketball player assured of a scholarship and possible future and Raquel is his pregnant fiancé who tutors him for his classes. When Xavier, Raquel’s brother, has his money stolen he’s convinced that Devon’s older brother and rival gang leader is behind the theft. Worried about his safety, Devon’s brother hands over a stolen Dillinger pistol for Devon’s protection and it ends up being a catalyst for everyone’s downfall.

“The Missing Dillinger” follows the missing money and gun as it leaves a trail of violence in its wake. And over the course of one day, the tension builds to a deadly explosion.

    Creative Notes:
I wanted to explore the inner city world of teens and use the thriller angle of tracking a gun as it goes through the lives of teachers, students, and parents. There is so much I remember from my times in high school and my dad being a teacher in rough neighborhoods. Yes, there is a lot of tragedy but what I remember most is the vivid, foul, funny, tragic language used by people.
