THE HUNGER GAMES MEETS DELIVERANCE in this thrilling story of suspense, action and horror.
Project collaboration: Open
Synopsis: Eighteen-year-old Todd Reynolds joins his father Wayne and their friend Gene on a weekend hunting trip to the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York. Todd has never shown any interest in hunting - he wants to be a writer - and his macho father wants to make a "man" out of him, which is the object of this trip. Things quickly go wrong, however, when their friend Gene disappears on their first morning of hunting. Todd and his father follow a trail of blood that leads to a mysterious hunting lodge that seems to be occupied by some very upscale hunters. Todd and his father discover that Gene is being held prisoner there, and that he is about to be the "guest of honor" at an annual feast that all the hunters indulge in: led by an exotic, elegant woman whose name we never discover, these hunters have an insatiable appetite for human flesh, and Gene is going to be the main course. We follow Todd and his father as they attempt to save their friend, and Todd is forced to go through a rite of passage that involves more carnage, more horror and more killing than he ever could have imagined. It transpires that the "one percent" do in fact feed off the "ninety-nine percent," quite literally. The final battle against the cannibalistic hunters will change Todd forever. He has become a "man" - but at what cost?
