Synopsis: DEAN, an 11 year old boy, is witness to the murder of his father. Able to identify and even draw a very accurate portrait of the killer, SHUBECK LYNCH, cops KURK and MATT take his testimony, and the case goes to trial. On the stand, Dean will not identify Lynch in the room. The judge rules as a mistrial. Several days later, Dean finds Lynch’s address and goes to his house to murder him. He shoots Lynch and retreats, but is kidnapped outside by KRUCZEK and GRISHA, who are henchmen for the Russian Mafioso BOVOSKY.

Meanwhile, in California, the DEA have recovered massive amounts of cocaine through their drug busts, but because of state law, they can’t dispose of it anywhere. Finally, the California DEA strikes a deal with the City of Reno, Nevada to transport the cocaine there where it can be incinerated.

Back in New York, Kurk and Matt question Shubeck, who survives the shooting, about the kidnapping of Dean. He denies any involvement and when Shubeck gets a phone call that his own father has been kidnapped, he convinces the police to help him save his father, as his father’s kidnappers may have something to do with Dean. When they arrive at his father’s house, Shubeck kills both kidnappers, but not before his father is killed. It’s been revealed that Shubeck’s own wife and child were killed, and now with the death of his father, he’s got nothing left to live for, and dives in to help the police bring down who’s ultimately responsible for his father’s death.

In Reno, as the drugs are loaded into the incinerator, the Russians are holding up a Bank of America in Sparks, the next town – and it’s not a simple bank holdup. The SWAT team, that was securing the incineration is called to the scene of the robbery to help, just as the incinerator goes into an automatic shutdown. The Russians are behind this too, of course, and make off with all of the cocaine in the back of a garbage truck.

The one link between the murder of Dean’s father and all of the business going down with the Russian mob is a man named MADDEN. It turns out that he’s Dean’s uncle, brother to his mom, ALEX, and he’s also the one who put the hit on Alex’s husband. He was last seen in Reno, doing some business with Bovosky before he turns up dead. Maddens phone records and wallet links him to Alex.

When Kurk confronts Alex, she is completely shocked, and does not admit to being involved, as Kurk thinks she is. In the meantime, there is an interesting connection and possible attraction brewing between Alex and Shubeck. When Kurk returns home that night, he is killed in his doorway by Kruczek, and his partner, Matt, is shot down in a drive-by.

Alex is approached by the FBI who figures her as the mastermind behind the Russian mob, the drug fiasco, and the string of murders. She’s handed an amazing opportunity – the FBI will turn a blind eye to everything and allow her to live a quiet life with her son if she turns over the drugs. She gives away the Cali cartel's associate, who already bought the drugs. She takes the deal and connects with Shubeck, HOPING that they'll live free and spend the drug sale profits. But the Cali cartel has ways of making its traitors feel very uncomfortable.

    Creative Notes:
First titled The Foggy Bottom but didn't sound good enough. Stray Bullets and Mushrooms is more high concept. I felt Alex's punishment should be reduced from dying. The reason is Dean deserves a mother. So I left her in a wheel chair lol.
