Start of Film:
1. Apple awakes in the morning gets a vision of girl getting hit by a car as the girls mother (neighbor) isn’t with the girl or watching her waiting for the bus. Apple awakes walks down the steps out front door.. You only see his legs walking rickety and he grabs girls hand saving her from being hit by car, pulling her away and walks her toward bus stop as caera pans up and you now see Apple. He walks girl as bus pulls up then neighbor(mother) walks up and says let go of my daughter. Apple goes home
2. Apple goes to train tracks to see train with his dog butchie. While watching for train Apple gets spooked as a man that lives in wood scares. They chat train goes by starts a relationship with man then goes home.
3. Apple and Mother go to doctors apt for Eunice as Eunice is becoming more ill.they leave doctors news not good for Eunice they head back home
4. Kenny has a show that he wants apple to go to as apple awaits togo he sits in living room talking about why dad left mother is drunk blaiming apple they talk. Kenny shows up beeps horn apple leaves.
5. At tavern Kenny singing on stage apple goes up takes mic embarres Kenny and himself ends up at bar where tough guys make fun of him and surround him. They end up outside where Kenny and a couple of bar patrons protect apple including big balck man and scares tough guys off
6. Apple goes to train tracks again sits with man from woods around fire . Man shows him how to tie knots and noose with rope as audience gets the idea the man is suicidal they talk man shows apple in to tent and tries to touch apple apple gets upset and runs home
7. Morning women with country accent shows up to get a vision from apple as she has been trying to get pregnant for a years apple tells her 2 weeks
8. Apple is cleaning and polishing his truck. Kenny shows up they go for a drive behind the house in the field where apples mother lets him drive. They have fun and laugh. Apple driving ertically.
9. Apple is playing in the barn villian neighbor shows up harrases apple for touching his young child daughter at bus stop and shows himpistol and he will pay if he does it aain yet apple saved her. Apple runs home scared
10. Apple goes to aa meeting with Kenny and his girlfriend who thinks he shouldn’t be bringing apple and shouldn’t be friends with apple. After Kenny who is and a coke addict talks apple raises hand stands a nd talks of his mother being an alcoholic among othewr things.
11. Apple gets taken to a comedy open mic where Kenny takes him to try and get him back for embarresing him yet whe Apple gets up to do stand up he blows the audience away leaving them laughing as the other comedians didn’t. and everyone loves apple.
12. Apple comes home hears neighbor Ed verbally abusing wife on porch and goes over to see whtas the matter and to stick up for wife that gets abused often.. Ed points gung at appleapple hits him with golf club. And ellen the wife thanks him and ed is taken away.
13. Apple meets a mentally challenge girl at diner who is a dishwasher she braeks a plate when putting them away manager yells at her. Apple sticks up for her. They become friends. Funny scene as apple embarrasses manager.
14. Daytime apple with his truck man shows up who is the brother of the women Apple told would get pregnant. Man sasy what you told my sister came true so I was wondering if you see anything with me. Apple tells guy he has 7 days to live . guy yells at apple gets in car storms out of driveway raged at what apple saw and yells at apple and speeds off.
15. Apple upset at man yelling at him apple gets in truck drives on his trail behind barn in the field.. driving fast while he is upset all of a sudden BOOOOM he gets out he has hit his own dog and killedit accidentally HUGE EMOTIoNAL SCENE.
16. Butchie gets buried. Apple burries him with his mother.
17. Kenny calls he got pulled over and his car towed and is with his girlfirnd walking asks apple to come get him..Apples keeps saying no he is not allowed to drive on roads but his mother isn’t home and he risks it and goes and gets Kenny they then get pulled over apple and Kenny get arrested girlfriend gets left
18. Apple at detention center or in jail long few scenes.
19. Apple bails apple out and picks him aand Kenny up
20. Apple has to do community service give another person a vision while there doing his work.
21. Apple goes to train tracks sees his friend standing in train tracks looking up arms wide back to train coming apple runs to try and save him to late man has committed suicide. Apple runs home stops at mans tent grabs rope and some other articles goes to barn upset throw’s rope in wooden box…..goes in house
22. Maddy Apples friend who is mentally challenged says she is moving away apple spends some scenes and time with her
23. Mom is getting more sick one morning has passed as apple finds her dead in her bed
24. Michael social worker shows up.
25. At Funeral of mother with Michael at end of funeral apple sneaks off on Michael and goes home runs in house. Over sink and crying runs to butchies grave goes to barn sees rope and is at his end ties rope to plank and begins to start the process of hanging himself. As he hangs the screen fades to black the music getting more and more intense…flashbacks and visuals fade in from black going thru the intensities of apples life, and him and his father, the screen then fades into white very bright overwhelming the audience music is loud and dramatically and emotionally intense brighter and brighter then it starts to fade back into reality as you see two large hands un doing the rope from the plank. Apple drops to the ground the 2 hands stand him up and dust him off…Apple comes too and slowly opens his eyes as 2 hand s are holding him up holding his shoulders he looks and to his dramatic amazement there he stands, DAD,dad, Father FATHER……………………………………………………………
The short film and TRAILER can be seen at www.applethefilm.com Apple is based upon a story about a mentally challenged man, his gift's and his journey through life that I developed and was brought to life by Pat Hicks in his Pat wrote and starred in a short film version www.applethefilm.com and hit the ground running as he wrote a short screenplay and delivered a cast and crew that was no less then magical. I believe Apple will carry everyone through a story that will drain every possible emotion through the essence of Apple's character and his life's experiences. You can not help but to become emotionally involved in Apple's heartfelt journey through life and feel a compassion becoming connected to him through this compelling story. An epic journey of one man who has everything against him yet inspires one to be more than what they can fully understand. Like one critic say's "Apple is begging to be a full feature film".(The Independent Critic 2011.) A compelling, heartfelt, and emotionally driven story which I am authoring a feature length version of Apple in the hopes that it can be brought to life and the story be told in its entirety......
