But What About Me
A klutzy female scientist discovers a miracle cure for obesity and becomes the thin, glamorous woman she always hoped to be, sort of. When it becomes clear that her employer will destroy the formula, she steals it and goes on the run while trying to live her fantasy life.
Synopsis:
JANET RAINES is a level headed, shy, hard working, but somewhat klutzy young scientist who dreams of being one of the beautiful people. But, at 250lbs, no one gives her a second's thought. Working for a pharmaceutical company, she discovers a miracle cure for obesity in some very rare South American plants, and actually achieves her dream of being thin and beautiful.
Knowing that she will lose the plants to the pharmaceutical company if they find out about their potency, Janet takes the plants and goes on the run. While in hiding, Janet is also trying (with lousy results) to live the Life of her Dreams with BRAD, the Man of her Dreams who just happens to be the Company owner’s hunky playboy son.
Looking for Janet (actually, the plants) are her two zaftig best friends,
two goony goons from New York who seem to be stuck in the 1960’s, and TIFFANY, Janet’s beautiful blonde co-worker, who wants the plants to further her own career.
Meanwhile, the plants are getting destroyed and Janet's fantasy life hasn't worked out the way she wanted it to. When she discovers that the plants are actually from South Africa, the whole troupe switches gears and the adventure continues on a new continent.
