Project collaboration: By Permission
Synopsis: Edmund, a middle-aged government agent, is forced by his mysterious handlers to live and work in a nefarious world of human trafficking rings. His wife and daughter have been dead for many years, and he has become so ravaged by his loss that he has spent the past two decades slowly drinking himself to death in the squalid hovel that he occupies alone in a desolate part of the American Southwest.

After learning that he has lung cancer and only a very short time to live, Edmund seeks redemption by attempting to rescue two children that he recently abducted and delivered to a mysterious group of men-in-black in the desert mountains. As cancer ravages his body and his condition rapidly deteriorates, his search takes him on a dark journey that uncovers a sinister government-operated project involving grisly human medical experiments overseen by beings from another world.

A chance encounter with a strange young scientist named Danny, a recent defector from the secret project who was a victim of the experiments when he was a small child, forces Edmund to confront all of the horrible things he has done for the agency.

Danny may be the only person who can lead Edmund into the labyrinthine underground lab where the two children are being held captive. As light is shed on how and why Edmund’s wife and daughter died, will Edmund be able to correct the mistakes of his past by rescuing the two children? Is Danny really who he says he is?

Edmund's journey does not end after he rescues the children from the secret lab where the experiments are conducted. When he is captured by his handlers and is finally forced to confront all that he has done, he is thrust into a nightmare world from which he will never return.
