The Watchers is an 85 page supernatural mystery, horror, thriller on the likes of The Amityville Horror meets Shutter Island.
Have you ever had a horrid, lucid dream from which you couldn't awake?... A dream that fuses all of the familiar images of your everyday life stored in your subconscious, with the most foreboding and traumatic experience caught in the forefront of your mind? This screenplay is that nightmare.
An amnesiac man awakens lost in the woods, forcing him to rent the last vacant room in a nearby cryptic home in an abnormal neighborhood. Flashes of memory surface as he is accused of brutally murdering a woman who he has never met. He meets a confused,
handicapped man in the adjacent room, who suddenly disappears. When a newcomer arrives, he realizes that he has embodied the role of the confused man –- every move that the confused man made that frightened him in the past, he now makes in the present in turn frightening the newcomer. As the depth of his mind continues to reveal itself, so does the house that traps him. The deception from the peculiar strangers,
who reside in the neighborhood, prove that they cannot be trusted. Now, he must escape from not only the house, but the neighborhood, if he has any chance of returning to a normal life.
