Synopsis:This script chronicles the life of Mother Teresa from the time that she was a child in Skopje, Kosova, until, as a nun, she founded the Missionaries of Charity order; committed to living in simplicity, serving among the poorest of the poor in Calcutta, India.
This work deals with the early influences in her life and the struggles she faced for years with her superiors, who found it odd that a lone Catholic nun would want to live in simplicity amongst the poorest of the poor.
Inspired by a word from God, not long after the 2nd World War, Mother Teresa went on to become one of the strongest voices in the twentieth century for those who were victims of extreme poverty. Her legacy continues to this day with outreaches started by her order in many developing nations across the globe. A legacy worthy of a quality feature film portrayal.
I took a trip to Calcutta, India, for a couple of weeks, to do research for this project, and was able to visit the Mother House where homeless children are cared for.
