Eric, a geologist and the son of the US President, discovers the lost civilization of Lumeria inside Mt. Shasta. He is entreated by them to stop planned mineral exploration which will cause the big California quake.
Synopsis:Eric, the son of the President, fascinated with Big Foot heads to Mt. Shasta to explore and see if he can find traces of the legendary animal. To his surprise he finds an illegal oil exploration operation guarded by U.S. Military. He is discovered and his flight leads him inside the mountain and to the discovery of the lost civilization of Lemuria.
They know he is the son of the President and entreat him to help them stop the drilling for oil, the plans for which will trigger the great California earthquake. Pegas, a young Lemurian with many magic skills will accompany him.
Eric, as son of the President, is constantly tailed by Secret Service agents. Eric takes great delight in making their lives miserable by constantly evading them. Eric and Pegas must now go to Washington to see his father and Pegas has added tricks to help Eric escape the agents.
In Washington Eric reports to his father who doesn't believe him until Pegas dazzles him with his advanced technology. The President agrees to consider their request. He asks them to come back later that afternoon.
To pass the time Eric takes Pegas to the aquarium. Meanwhile, Eric's Uncle Willet, the Attorney General, knows all about Eric's report and plans his demise, as he, Willet, is behind the illegal drilling.
While at the aquarium two of Willet's agents manage to push Eric into the shark tank at feeding time. Pegas, who is a shape shifter, dives into the tank and becomes a dolphin, herding the sharks away from Eric till he is rescued.
They meet Karen, who assists them and ends up joining them on their escapades. It is clear now that they are in danger and are being perused. They end up hiding at the Smithsonian, where Karen works, but are persued even there. In the ensuing chase they end up in the Spirit of Saint Louis, which Pegas activates and they fly out of the Smithsonian at very high speed.
They are pursued across county and downed when they run out of superfuel. They are captured by Willet's people. Willet holds them captive awaiting the successful explosions which will cause the quake. Time is running out. By now Willet has heard of the Lemurians and wants to meet them himself. He agrees to negotiate halting the drilling if he can meet with the Lemurians, sensing an even greater wealth of high technology.
But at the meeting, sensing a trap, Eric and Pegas escape and go to the mountain. Inside the mountain once again they see the countdown to the explosions has begun. The Lemurians who refuse to interfere turn the task over to Eric who has a plan. He activates the underground reservoirs of water that the Lemurian's control and explodes jets of water at the drill sites just before the explosions occur sending the explosions harmlessly into the air.
The disaster is averted and the President arrives to take charge of Willet and his henchmen.
