Synopsis: People, if you are anything like me, then you are a large Black Man from Mississippi. That and you love a good story!

What if , for about the same cost as a big flat screen HDTV, you could buy a device that would enable that car or truck sitting in your driveway or garage right now to drive itself? You get up early in the morning, you get in your car, and you sleep as your car drives itself to work! Grandparents too old to drive, kids too young to drive, friend too drunk to drive, it doesn't matter. Put them in the car, tell the car where you want it to go, and they're there. The car does all the work!

Welcome to "'Calamity Road", where a Black NASCAR driver, ruined and almost killed by a racist opponent, is given a second chance by an eccentric billionaire who dreams of a world of self-driving cars.

Mike Atkinson faces three of his patron's robot vehicles in an insanely dangerous mountain road race, along with an Arab Princess, the matronly head of an international charity, a brother and sister team of tree huggers in their electric car, the billionaire's crippled war veteran son, the billionaire's young Russian trophy wife, and finally, the same three time NASCAR champion racer who ruined and almost killed him.

But all this is just the start of Mike's problems. His increasingly angry and frustrated wife, after years of watching her husband spend the family into deep debt while fruitlessly chasing his dream of NASCAR glory (he's never won), may be having an affair with his own brother, Mike's Crew Chief. She's also enraged at her husband's possible affair with the beautiful Caucasian head of his Security detail, and the attention Mike gets from the aggressively romantic Princess.

Finally, it seems someone wants Mike dead. Is it his scheming wife and brother? The Princess with questionable ties to extremist groups? A drug lord he may have been desperate enough to borrow money from, but can't pay back? Mike's NASCAR rival? Some twisted plot of the billionaire himself?

And there's the race itself! With billions of dollars at stake, sabotage and murder are afoot...
There are many obstacles Mike Atkinson must overcome if he and his opponents are to survive the lethal gauntlet of Calamity Road!

In the end, Mike and his arch-rival finish within a second of each other, having barely escaped with their lives. Further, each has new found respect for the other.

But there is one more shocker, for the Grand Prize is not quite as advertised...
