Synopsis:Based on true events, 'Small Voices' tells the story of street children kidnapped from Pakistan and their subsequent forced migration to the Arab Emirates, where they are trained to race camels for the pleasure of the wealthy sheikhs. It is the story of two boys, Jamal and Yasser, and their dedication to each other in their struggle to survive.
By helping one another, they are able to persevere. And, ultimately, make their escape from the misery of the camps. But can they escape the dangers of the desert, too?
This is a short loosely based on the feature script that I wrote, directed and shot in Pakistan to give an idea to investors of the world where the story takes place.
This is a trailer for a short version of 'Small Voices' that I wrote, directed and edited in 2008. The film won Best Short at the 2008 South Asian International Film Festival, sponsored by HBO.
