The Farm Team
A reunion of a championship baseball team helps a man to let go of his regrets. He is reminded to enjoy life and value good friends and family.

Synopsis:
As a solitary figure shuffles down the shoulder of an isolated country road at dusk, the headlights of a vehicle appear behind the silhouette. Oblivious to the danger, the car bears down on the figure. Turning at the last moment, the vehicle’s headlights are blinding. At the moment of apparent impact, Pete Johnson is jolted awake.
Haunted by this reoccurring nightmare, Pete is irritable and visibly frustrated in dealing with his coworkers and spouse. His ridiculous behavior while coaching his sons’ little league baseball team brings the problems to a head.
With his family in peril, Pete’s wife gives him an ultimatum. To hopefully gain some perspective on life, Pete returns to a reunion in the small farming community of his childhood. Reminiscing about his last summer there, Pete recalls the adventures of his rag-tag group of friends and their exploits playing baseball.
The summer of 1983 begins with Pete’s baseball team confronted with the addition of three new members to the team from a rival school. Pete’s best friend, Dan, has particular issue with one of the “new additions", as he feels he is a threat to Pete’s rightful place on the team.
In spite of its small size and intra-squad tension, the team is undefeated going into the pivotal mid-season tournament. Unfortunately, the tournament is a disaster. Arguments and dissention culminate with Dan and one of the newer additions being kicked off the team for fighting.
The boys are eventually allowed back on the team, and the fight has an overall unifying effect on the group. Playing as a cohesive unit, the team makes it to the state tournament and wins the improbable title.
The celebration is short-lived for Pete, as his family is forced to move away. Pete is devastated to leave his teammates, coaches, and especially Dan.
Fast asleep in his present day hotel room, Pete’s nightmare returns. This time, the identity of the lonely silhouette is revealed, as the mangled body of Dan lies in the ditch. Returning to the reunion reunites Pete with his old friends and gives him a chance to come to grips with this tragedy. Reminded of the value of friends and family, Pete returns home a man committed to treasure the important things in life.
