Synopsis:The film opens with a paranoid schizophrenic taking hostages in a supermarket. Tess Rayburn, the first female SWAT team leader in the state, is on the scene. When things deteriorate, she takes an unusual step to defuse the situation, and save the hostages--she gets herself shot by the perp! We find that Tess will do anything to save lives in these situations, often at great cost to herself. In fact, her doctor warns her that she cannot take any more close-range bullets. We discover that Tess has always been this way, going back to her days in the military, and while she has a loving relationship with her husband, Philip, he cannot deal with her putting her life in danger. Philip thinks he has a boring job working in finance, but when an older employee named Gary is fired, he does not take it well. Gary forces an IT worker to give him access to the building and kills her. He then goes to work and takes hostages. Tess is tasked with his warrant, and when she finds him gone, and his home armory, she puts two and two together. With her team, she speeds to her husband's work, only to find that Gary has killed his boss, and taken the building. She will not get to stay in command with her husband in the hostage mix, but when Gary attacks members of her team, and gets another co-worker killed, she has no choice. The rules of engagement state that a team must enter a building to take out an active shooter, and time is running out, as Gary has targeted another employee to die. With her husband in harm's way, and down two team members, Tess has to make the toughest call of her life, and charge into the crosshairs of a madman--this time with her own husband's life on the line.
