My second draft of this script (this is the first time turning it in though). A couple story-arcs were cut out or trimmed down. Besides that, just tightening up of dialogue and action.
Midnight Lullabies
A group of lonely people, all different ages and from different backgrounds, find solace in a rundown diner at night. Set across a two-day period of which a series of tragic events changes all their lives forever.

Synopsis:
They are God's lonely people, and a rundown diner in a rotting downtown city is their only slice of Heaven. Donnie the alcoholic failed songwriter who makes everyone laugh but himself. JM the construction worker who helps the homeless and helpless in hope of making himself feel better for the family he had but messed up. Scotty the Gambler, in deep with a local crime boss, and Julia the girl who couldn't take his mistakes anymore, former lovers brought together after years one night at the diner as Scott reveals his biggest mistake. Jessie the girl who acts like she doesn't need a man, especially when she does, who reaches out to Donnie do to a situation with her Mother. Ricky, an aging man who gave up his own dreams to take over his father's dead-end diner when he fell sick. Charlie and Marion, older patrons of the diner who both lost their own life-long companions in different ways earlier in life, who say all they need to each other in their silence across from each other, too afraid to reach out to one another. Adam the cook, seduced by nightly bar-hopping adventures with Donnie, finds himself needing to go one way or another, to save himself or keep trying to save Donnie. Set across a 48 hour period, a series of events, some tragic some not, changes the life of every one of them forever.
