Synopsis:James Marshall has spent his whole life going from one relationship to another. Now he is with the woman of his dreams. She is young, smart, and beautiful. He knows she is the woman he is going spend the rest of his life with. Unfortunately she doesn't feel the same way. After being newly dumped, James is faced with being single for the first time in his life. Now he has entered a world unfamiliar to him as he has to face the trials and tribulations of being single. Lucky for him his crass friend Ryan has been playing the field for awhile and offers to lend his, not so popular lady techniques. James and Ryan enter the bar scene trying to get James through the first important part of being single...get laid to make the pain go away. But James can only think of his one true love. The one true love that is at the bar right now dry humping some guy on the dance floor. After being destroyed yet again, James goes out in search of a new love. What he finds is that you shouldn't drink if you're not a drinker, never go on a blind date set up by a friend who has given you nothing but bad advice, and that Godzilla may in fact have a vagina. When James repeatedly fails to attract a woman he turns to his last hope, the internet. James soon finds that the world of internet dating might not be so bad when he is contacted by a mysterious woman calling herself KDIZZLE. Ignoring the advice of Ryan, who feels that KDIZZLE could have a hump or perhaps a penis, James decides to meet the mystery woman. James nervously meets KDIZZLE for coffee hoping that she does not have any extra body parts and finds that his shadowy lady is in fact a girl named Shea. An extremely well adjusted beautiful female. The only problem is that James' past few months of mingling in the unpleasant filth of the single life is about to catch up to him in a big way as a romantic dinner with Shea is about to turn into an unlikely reunion with several of his past dates. James is forced to both deal with his crazy ex, a date gone wrong, and a jealous new boyfriend while still keeping the new girl unaware of what an ass he has been. In the end James finds that the best way to find love is to stop looking for it. And if you find it, just be yourself.
The story was originally much longer, had a hard R rating, and the main character had some pretty unlikable traits. I decided to go a little more main stream while hopefully still retaining some edge.
