Synopsis:
Alone with her beautiful but grieving mother on a dying plantation in
the Phillipines in 1941, the 14-year-old American Hilda faces her own inner
hurricane when Daniel, a handsome American soldier, comes to map the jungles of
this remote region and falls for her mother. As passions, jealousies
and strange rumors of impeding war all grow stronger, a
fiercely-jealous Hilda decides she must remove her rival for Daniel’s
attention, so she steals a spellbook from the local witch doctor and casts a
deathspell on her mom. Suddenly the storm breaks as Hilda’s war of
love and spells collides with the start of World War Two.
