Twin peasant girls cursed by an evil nobleman find their destinies intertwined with medieval freedom fighter Owain Glyndwr in this fantastical take on the life of the real-life Welsh Braveheart.
Project collaboration: Closed
Synopsis: The place is Medieval Wales, under English rule. Lovely peasant sisters Bronwyn (a horsemaster) and Fia (an expert archer) find themselves in a desperate situation when Bronwyn draws the unwanted attention of the Roger Grey, Lord of Ruthin. As he becomes more obsessed with her, his henchman imprisons them, cursing them with immortality to keep them young and beautiful forever for his master. After weeks locked in a tower, they are finally able to escape into hiding in the thick woods of Wales, remaining undisturbed until years later, when the young and privileged Owain Glyndwr, closest neighbor to Roger Grey, crosses their path.

Injured, Glyndwr stays with them to recover and finds himself bewitched by their mystical beauty and wisdom. He reluctantly returns home upon the death of his father and takes over duties at his manor. All remains well until a peasant uprising and the deposing of a king coincides with a deepening feud between Glyndwr and Roger Grey.

Before long, all hell breaks loose. Owain Glyndwr breaks with England to form a band of Welsh rebels to fight their oppressors, and Bronwyn and Fia find themselves in the middle of the fray, fighting for the rights of their people and finally unlocking the mysterious curse that has plagued them for so many years...

Part historical fiction, part fantasy, part swashbuckling adventure, this script imagines what might have taken place in the life of Owain Glyndwr - a real-life hero steeped in Welsh legend.
