A struggling, over the hill Matt Damon impersonator is thrilled to be mistaken for his famous alter ego. Unfortunately, it's by a group of dim-witted kidnappers.
Synopsis:Felix is getting older – softer around the middle, thinner on top. For anyone else, that might be fine. But Felix has made a career out of impersonating Matt Damon, and now his career is in peril. After being turned away from a gig and humiliated by his agent, Gene, Felix leaves LA and takes a “respectable” job with a bank in an exurb. There, he struggles to let go of his past, while concentrating on his new occupation: Seizing foreclosed homes. He starts an awkward but promising romance with Petunia, and seems to be settling into his new life, though he can’t help but try every now and then to be “recognized” as Hollywood’s Jason Bourne. One night, while waiting for his usual police escort to help him seize a home, Felix is confronted by Pinky, Stink and Brutal. The three humungous, scowling men share something in common: They think that they’ve run into Matt Damon. The dim-witted trio decides to kidnap Matt... Felix... and hold him for ransom. But things don’t work out, and an attempt to wrangle ransom money out of Gene goes nowhere. Growing impatient with having to keep the obnoxious actor in their basement, Pinky and the others decide take their hostage out in public, where he's spotted by someone who thinks they’re seeing Matt Damon, and films him with their cell phone. The grainy cell phone video pops up on TV, and Felix finds that he's thrilled to suddenly see his face all over the news. He convinces Pinky and the others that this is a good thing, as it will help get them their ransom money soon -- and he gets them to film even more videos of him in captivity, raising further media interest. Eventually the real Matt Damon is summoned to the local police station for an interview, while Petunia tries to track Felix down. Petunia manages to save Felix, though Felix isn't quite sure he wants to be saved. He’s on TMZ more than the real Matt Damon, and this will certainly revive his career as an impersonator, while maybe even lead to other offers. Common sense prevails, however, and he agrees to leave with her. But Pinky and his companions pursue their escaped hostage, and can’t believe their good luck when they happen upon him in the back of a Town Car, parked at a stop light -- unaware this is the real Matt Damon, in town for his interview at the police station. When Felix sees the news about the abduction of the real Damon on TV, he realizes he must finally do the right thing, take responsibility for what he's done, and try to free the famous actor.
