A troubled FBI agent is assigned a missing persons case in the wilderness of Canada, where she uncovers the dark secret of a small town, a secret that threatens to consume her sanity and possibly her life.
Synopsis:Finalizing another divorce and on the verge of being dismissed for botching a serial murder case, PERRY is a troubled FBI agent having one downer of a week full of blackouts and insomnia. To get her out of his hair, her boss sends her and her partner, ERIC, to sniff around a potential missing persons report surrounding a U.S. Senator in the deep woods of Canada before he sends a REAL agent in to take over.
On arrival to the small town of Consumption, PERRY learns of the sordid history behind the people in town. Over 20 years earlier, a Consumption resident and hunting guide, FLINT, went camping in the wilderness with his girlfriend SABLE and a group of friends. A terrible blizzard hit trapping them in the mountains. Only FLINT survived.
Still living in town, the people have made assumptions as to how FLINT survived the 3 week entrapment in the mountains. One resident, WILL, the local deputy and father of SABLE, believes FLINT possibly killed SABLE and the others and even more grisly, ate them to survive the entrapment, evoking the horrific curse of the Wendigo.
When PERRY and ERIC arrive, odd things begin happening. The senator’s political team arrives unannounced to clean things up with an eye for a takeover. Strange sightings are reported. Odd weather arrives in VERY localized fashion and the town is attacked by the Wendigo.
PERRY is struck with the task of trying to make sense of who is behind all the mayhem – FLINT, WILL, the politicos, the eerie woodland hermit. As townspeople begin disappearing, it becomes harder and harder to keep her sanity in the chaos. She has more blackouts. Suspicions arise. Evidence is found and the culprit revealed.
