An alien has struck a deal with the government to keep himself safe from imprisonment: perpetuate alien hoaxes on the world’s population so funding for space exploration continues to be approved. But when an alien hoax he didn’t arrange turns deadly, he becomes suspect.
Synopsis:Hayden McCloud is on Earth for one reason – to keep it off of the intergalactic radar. Unfortunately for him, the United States government isn't too happy to have him. When he first arrived, a deal was struck where he would be kept off of the dissection table and be allowed to stay on Earth in exchange for working for the government. His day job? Perpetuating alien hoaxes so when voting time comes around the populous is open-minded about spending money on space exploration and weapons which could be used not only in defense against other nations, but against alien attack.
He not only pulls off the hoaxes, but he reports on them, too. And it was all going so well until two things happen. First, a nosy professor makes it her business to disprove everything Hayden is trying to prove. Second, an alien hoax takes place that Hayden wasn't involved in planning – and there were human casualties, something which he had been adamant about not letting happen.
Now, to clear his own name and ensure his job (and life) security, he enlists the help of the very woman unwittingly trying to undo him. Maybe if she sees these things are real firsthand, she'll lay off and things can go back to status quo. But, if another alien is attacking, will the two of them alone be able to save the planet?
