Jason Marks' normal life gets sideswiped when he crashes his car into the back of mobster Johnny Capriani's. Because Jason, a hard-working post college grad, has no money to spare, Johnny asks a small favor of him for compensation: delivery of an unmarked box to a man waiting in a local parking garage. In exchange for this box, Jason receives a briefcase, which he was to take home and keep safe for Johnny as instructed, until he would arrive to pick it up. Unknown to Johnny or Jason, Johnny's psychotic and rival brother, Anthony, had men waiting in the garage whom were instructed to kill Johnny and retrieve the briefcase. Instead they follow Jason home, and muscle the case away from him and his best friend Matt. When Johnny arrives to pick up his case, he's furious to find out that Jason has handed it over to the enemy. This leads to both Jason and his friend Matt becoming employees of Johnny as they are conned into one favor after another; Johnny offering his protection as a hook and sink. This seemingly important briefcase comedically jumps from one person's hands to another, as Jason struggles to break free of Johnny's hold and retain a life of normalcy. Unfortunately, when Jason's crush is kidnapped by Anthony, he's forced to embrace his new life of crime and join Johnny to rescue her, ultimately resulting in him finding his place in life...working for Johnny.
