Synopsis:This is a gritty and violent true story about Ran Runnels, a former Texas Ranger who recruited a mercenary army to protect travelers to and from the California gold fields in the 1850's, while the first trans-continental railroad was being built across Panama -- at the cost of thousands of lives.
His story also includes appearances by a future US president and the woman voted the Greatest Black Briton.
