Synopsis: Reed Thomas picks up and leaves the big city with his daughter Bryce after the death of his wife Anna. Returning back to the safety of his childhood town Shadey Creek.

Reed was never the ideal role model for Bryce and she blames him for not being around much when her mother was alive. Reed’s futile attempts at being there for his daughter seem to be a little to late. She is particularly unhappy about the move and leaving her old life behind, but that soon changes after she meets Christian, a handsome young man that takes a liking to Bryce.

Reed runs into his old flame Helen and the two make an attempt to rekindle the past. Not before deciding that it might be a little to early for the both of them. Reed is threatened by Aaron, the town Sheriff, Helen’s ex and Reeds old high school bully. Reed, attempting to be the bigger man and let things go between him and Aaron, he starts to see someone lurking in the forest near his house.

Unable to prove that Aaron is taking things a bit far Reed takes measures to expose him and protect his home. A trip to the hardware store and a few dozen security lights and cameras later, Reed’s comfort level is still a bag of uneasiness. As Bryce gets more involved with Christian he starts to get Bryce into some peculiar situations, first smoking pot and then breaking into the town church, almost getting caught by Father Becker, the town Priest. Father Becker tries to put Reeds mind to rest to no avail.

As Reed’s paranoia exceeds his need to protect his daughter, others begin to notice strange shadows in the woods and unexplained deaths begin to surface. Aaron takes notice and starts to push his focus to being a real cop and starts to back off on Reed. However the damage has already been done. As Aaron gets closer to the truth Reeds paranoid state gets the better of him and before Aaron can warn Reed about the danger he has invited into his home Reed and Aaron ensue into a lethal battle which ends with catastrophic results of Helen and Bryce’s death.

In a fit of rage Reed kills Aaron just before Father Becker presents Reed with the truth. Becker is what we call a Reaper and he is here to guide Reed to take his place. No ties left behind and no choice left to consider Reed must accept his fate.

    Creative Notes:
I have been working on this concept for a long time and I think it is very close, I am really interested in bringing the cohesiveness of the story together and not changing things just for the sake of change. I think most of the characters are strong although some of the dialogue could use some help. I think it might need to be shortened but I am not sure where to edit.
