The Henchman
A part-time bouncer joins a billionaire criminal's personal army, but when he realizes he's surrounded by violent sociopaths he has to lead a revolution to put things right.

Synopsis:

Paul Thorburn is a part-time bouncer. At age 29, he and his fiance live on a futon in his mother's apartment. She's understandably displeased with the situation.
One night at work, Paul thwarts an assassination attempt on billionaire industrialist (and all-but-indicted criminal trafficker) Theo Serber. In a cocaine-fueled haze, Serber decides Paul is his contemporary, new best friend, and Jesus Christ himself, and offers him a job as his new bodyguard. That means 60K a year, tax-free, all expenses paid, and his own house on Serber's South American island paradise.
Paul and Lena jump at the chance, but the island turns out to be less a resort than a paramilitary complex/Bond villain's hideout manned by an army of amoral mercenaries led by Theo's whipping boy, Aaron Meziger.
They befriend Head of Security and former friends of Theo, Mike Parker and his wife Susan. They've come to regret joining Serber, but know anyone who leaves is killed.
The assassination attempt is determined to have come from a group of rebels on the island itself. Theo sends his army of henchmen to destroy them, but SPOILER it turns out to be a trap. /SPOILER
Aaron grows jealous of Paul being Serber's favorite, and challenges him to a fight. Paul brings Mike, who is wounded badly. In drunken retaliation, Paul attempts to frame Aaron for keying Serber's favorite supercar.
SPOILER
Theo punishes Paul by killing Lena and banishing him from the island.

This leaves Paul with only the connections he's made on the inside and Serber's favorite supercar to overthrow Theo and his army of henchmen.
