I've been playing around with a new ending and a tighter first act. This is a rough work in progress which I will work on for November.
RAINY DAY
A botched kidnapping lands beautiful heiress Vicky Lacson back in her house full of secrets - the ransom uncollected. Warrior-Detective Anna Ozawa can trust no one as she unravels the mystery of what the mastermind REALLY wants and would kill to get.
Synopsis:
The story begins at the end of a kidnapping scenario - but nothing goes as planned. The ransom never gets collected, and the victim appears hanging upside down under the Fremont bridge - gagged, bound but ALIVE.
Detective Anna Ozawa finds herself suspended from the police force but obligated to solve the mystery - but it's unclear who she can trust. And when it comes time for the family to return the uncollected ransom money to the bank, things get REALLY complicated. Tempers flare, greedy motives rise to the surface, and the victim reveals an unsettling truth to her father with the words: "Daddy - it's NOT over. They wanted you to find me."
Who took Vicky? And if not for ransom, then what? And after she's recovered - how are they controlling her, if not by direct force?
Be careful who you trust as the conspiracy broadens from a house full of secrets to ominous forces on both sides of the law. The winding, twisting crime story blossoms into a thrilling finale in Seattle's infamous "Jungle" of Beacon Hill.
