Synopsis: HALLOWEEN "USE YOUR ALLUSION" TRIVIA CONTEST

WINNER WILL RECEIVE A BLU-RAY COPY OF THE ORIGINAL HALLOWEEN (1979) W/ JAMIE LEE CURTIS!!

How it works--

As your reading through the script, note any allusions (allusion = "an implied or indirect reference especially in literature" merriam-webster.com) or trivia.

For instance, in the title of the contest, "Use Your Allusion" refers to Guns N' Roses bloated 1991 "double album" Use Your Illusion 1 & 2.

Here's another example--

If a characters says, "Hey, let's hop into the Mystery Machine!" on page 2 of the script, you'd put--

2: "Mystery Machine" is the van in Scooby Doo.

When you make your list, please start with the page number and have the pages in order (for instance, if you find something else on page four, put that after the example above and so on).

When the list is complete, send me a message via StudioMail with your list copied and pasted into the body. At the end of Oct-beginning of Nov., I'll go through the entries and figure out who won, then post the results and my master list of trivia/allusions, so you can compare yours to it.

Here's a hint: the trivia and allusions are from all over the place--pop culture to high culture--not just horror stuff.

Happy Halloween, and happy hunting!

GATEWAY OF THE DEAD -- SYNOPSIS

A man stumbles upon a suicide in the desert: nothing new in the Mojave, where strange events occur all the time. The man is EARL BASSETT, amateur archaeologist specializing in the Uto-Aztecan, Native American tribes of the Great Basin. At the same time that Bassett makes his grisly discovery, an escaped CONVICT (a serial killer) finds his way to one of the abandoned mine shafts swiss-cheesing the hillsides around the tired community of Red Mountain, an old, nearly defunct, mining town. Unbeknownst to the Convict, some of the local Native Americans, following in the paths of their ancestors, view the mine shafts as gateways to the underworld. From the mine, the Convict launches a twisted rampage of slaughter the small town Sheriff--corrupt and on the payroll of the local meth lab--lacks the inclination or resources to deal with. And to his dismay, Bassett always seems to find himself in the thick of things. As the physical and spiritual worlds collide, it's anybody's guess which will win control over the “GATEWAY OF THE DEAD.”
