A short video highlighting the bravery of so many, and how America got back up, as one.
Synopsis: As a United States Air Force Veteran and current firefighter who deployed to Saudi Arabia one week before the horrific events of 9/11, that day is forever seared into my mind. But, not in the way you may think. Yes, it was truly a sad day, but the thing I remember most out of the tragedy, was the bravery of the FDNY, PAPD, NYPD, and so many others saving tens of thousands of lives, and the bravery of our Military.

The days and months after 9/11, was really a special time. We were knocked down, but we got up as ONE. I remember coming back from Saudi into Baltimore's airport in December. My group of firefighters and I were walking through the airport, and people would come up to us and shake our hands. One thing I will never forget is going through security. We all took our dog tags off to walk through the metal detector. The TSA agent told us to put our tags back on because we represented the very best America had to offer and thanked each of us. Getting back to Florida and my family was great. I was blown away by the patriotism and support for us.

Then, it slowly started to fade. The political bickering and finger pointing started. Slowly, we began to forget. Now I know that it is important to not dwell on the tragedy of 9/11. I don't. I want people to remember the heroism of that day. I want people to remember our Soldiers, Airman, Navy, and Marines. I want people to remember how special that time was AFTER. When we were knocked down, but got back up as ONE. That's what this video is about.
