A homicide investigation leads Detective Mau' Morrison to an infamous historical event which is the catalyst for an indestructible serial killer's crusade of vengeance.
Synopsis:When Detective Maurice (Mau') Morrison is assigned to the homicide of 98-year old, bedridden Bernie Parker, he expected to have the case wrapped up within a couple of days.
Bernie's death was caused by the ingestion of an unidentified chemical. He died in pure agony as his internal organs burned and the tissue melted.
There are three probable suspects. The only people in the house on the day of Bernie's death was his son, Charlie, daughter-in-law, Shirley, and his live-in care giver, Carl Barton.
Carl Barton monitored Bernie via a closed-circuit video camera 24/7 when he wasn't in the room. Everything was recorded onto the hard-drive of his computer.
Mau' and his partner, Detective Robert (Bobby) Rainguet secretly obtained a copy of the disc recorded during the hours leading up to Bernie's death. He felt confident that the killer would be on the recording. He then ordered the confiscation of Carl's computer.
Less than 7 hours into the investigation, his Chief unexpectedly pulled him off the case. A government agency intervened and demanded the immediate return of the confiscated equipment. The agency was now taking over the investigation.
Mau' was infuriated and protested to the Chief that it was their jurisdiction and he'd be willing to work with the FBI. The Chief informs him that the FBI weren't involved and the order came from a higher authority. CIA?
Mau' still had the copy of the video and felt more than ever that it would expose the killer. Only the killers shadow appears on the video.
Within twenty four hours there are two more deaths. Both victims died displaying the same symptoms as Bernie Parker, one in Atlanta and the next in Los Angeles. The bodies are subpoenaed by the government before an autopsy could be performed.
The next morning, a mysterious package is placed in the hands of Mau'. It contains an old photograph of a B-29 aircraft and a crude diary kept by Bernie Parker from 1938/39.
Bernie's memoirs are captivating but read as a science fiction story and Mau' is very skeptical. But if he was to believe what he read, then pieces of the puzzle behind the recent murders fell into place.
The death of a fourth man in Philadelphia forces Mau' to push aside his skepticism. The terrifying results of a government experiment gone horribly wrong has unleashed a lethal killer. A killer who would never stop. A killer who could never be captured.
Mau' realized with horror that an infamous historical event was the catalyst for a killer on a crusade of vengeance and he had to find a way to prevent an impending massacre. The big question was, "how?".
