Carpool
There are over 1.7 million men incarcerated in the United States. They are entitled to food, clothing, housing, dental, and medical care. There are .79 million women who visit these men. These women are entitled to nothing. This story is about four of these women.

CARPOOL
Carpool is a drama along the lines of movies such as Monster’s Ball, Precious, and Crash. Carpool is a story about a week in the life of four women visitors. They visit their men in prison every Saturday, religiously. Little do they know that their next trip to the prison will be the trip that changes their lives?
The story begins on a muggy day at Chino Institution for Men (CIM). These four women visitors meet for the first time in the long visiting line. Lisa Reynolds is in line with her Mom. Lisa is visiting her man for the first time. She is a nineteen-year-old ballet dance. As a student, her mother is her financial support. She doesn’t want Lisa to visit her man in jail, because she spent a lifetime visiting Lisa’s father in prison. Behind them, Rhonda and Jeanette join in the visiting line. Rhonda and Jeanette are professional visitors who have carpooled together for years. Right from the start, they try to educate Lisa on visiting procedures. And right from the start, they know that Mom is not behind Lisa’s commitment with her man. So, Jeanette offers Lisa the opportunity to carpool with them every Saturday. Lisa is appreciative for the ride. It’s every Saturday that she has difficulty with.
It’s Tuesday. As the ladies go through their daily life, they have to prepare themselves for the next visit to CIM. Lisa is having difficulty dancing. She is on the fence about her dilemma. She wants to dance, and still be loyal to her man. Even though, she gets support from her dance mates, she is still on the fence. Jeanette is a seamstress. During the course of her week, she works and purchases drugs to smuggle into the prison for her man. She hasn’t been with another man in years. Rhonda is a hardcore single mother with three children by three different men. Her only means of support is the child support she receives from her baby’s daddies. However, the daddies don’t give up their hard earned cash for nothing. For their money, they want sex, and Rhonda is forced to give it to them.
On Saturday, their devotion is put to the test. Will they continue to visit these men in prison or will they change their life for the better.
