Synopsis:What happens when two Occupy Miami protestors meet a con man who convinces them to get-rich-quick?
They get poor quicker.
Try as they might, they can’t master the fine art of “bird-dogging,” without which they can never become super-salesmen.
Broke, desperate and freshly mugged, the teenagers are forced to panhandle. But they fail at that too.
Until they apply their bird-dogging skills to the fine art of panhandling.
Bird-dogging, (so I learned the hard way), involves walking up to strangers and convincing them to attend the cult-like Golden Opportunity Meeting.
The two Panhandlers make just enough money to fool their friends, family and lovers into thinking their get-rich-quick scheme is a success. They live double lives, dressing like bums or businessmen, depending on the situation.
A rift between the two teenagers, along with some personal issues, breaks up the team. Their panhandling skills take a dive. The people they love bust them at the worst possible moments. They are broke and alone and stumbling. They are Stumblebums.
But with the help of their panhandler network, the two teenagers break into the con man’s office and get revenge.
They also achieve redemption.
Using the knowledge they gained from months of panhandling, they save President Obama from an assassin disguised as a bum.
This script originally took place when Nixon was President. But the Occupy Wall Street Protesters make it just as relevant today. Plus, it would be a lot cheaper to make.
