A dark comedy that follows an eccentric, drug-addicted powerlifter on his personal journey to become the strongest man in the world.

Synopsis: For eccentric powerlifting champion Lewis B. Sullivan, lifting is life. Lewis owns and literally lives in his gym, but is recently behind on payments. In the last five years, Lewis has set fifteen world records in five separate, and progressively heavier weight classes. The only weight class he has left to conquer is the heavyweight division, which he plans to do at the upcoming Pound For Pound Invitational. By winning, he hopes to cover the mortgage payments on his gym, but more importantly, become, officially, the strongest man in the world.

On competition day, Lewis sets world heavyweight records, first in the bench press, and then in the squat. For his final event, the deadlift, Lewis tries to oust world record-holder Donte White to become the strongest man in the world. On his final repetition, Lewis attempts to lift one thousand pounds to beat Donte, set a new world heavyweight record, and win the Invitational, but the weight is too heavy and his knees explode.

Lewis wakes up in the hospital a week later, barely able to walk, let alone lift. When he gets back into town, Lewis finds out that his manager has held his funeral, claimed the team insurance for himself, and fled, while the bank foreclosed on Lewis's gym.

With no home, no legs, and no money, Lewis is left to fend for himself. His life begins to spiral out of control. Lewis quickly becomes addicted to drugs and joins a wheelchair-bound gang. He realizes he has reached his lowest point when he murders a drug dealer and needs to escape town. On the brink of suicide, Lewis befriends a deep-sea fisher who teaches him that there is purpose to life. Inspired, Lewis joins a fishing expedition and eventually learns to walk again. His friend helps him to make his legs stronger than ever.

When his fishing expedition ends, Lewis sees a television ad that shows his old competitor, Donte, will be lifting in his final event before retirement. Lewis realizes it is now or never to take the world-championship title. The audience is shocked to see that Lewis is alive and able to compete. Before his final lift, a doctor warns Lewis his knees will not take the pressure and that he will die if he attempts this lift. Lewis, determined to win or die trying, ignores the doctors warnings. As he attempts his final, massive lift, the room fades to black.

Thanks for checking out this page and I hope you enjoy reading this script. Just so you know what you're getting into, this is a dark, over the top comedy. If you expect something serious or conventional, this script will surprise you. I hope in a good way.
