Synopsis: In Ontario Oregon, at the end of the Rocky Mountain Range sits an ancient volcano, millions of years old, called Malheur Butte. Malheur, the French word for unhappiness and misfortune, describes this place well. It is a quiet place - too quiet. There are no birds, no animals of any kind. Around it grow bone white twisted trees, stripped of their bark, which look like they are dying a slow death in perpetual agony. A quagmire of green water gurgles and burps between the trees. Erosion and the infinity of time have turned the volcano into a demon with dual horns of stone. High school kids, looking for a thrill, by practicing dark arts, make the mistake of being there at the stroke of midnight.

An ancient evil was locked away in that Butte and now it has been freed, not by magic, but by cold hard science. At midnight Idaho National Laboratory brings it's newest reactor, an anti-matter collider online. Malheur Butte explodes, consuming the children, darkening all of Southern Idaho, leaving a disturbingly empty INL and no anti-matter to be found.

A small group, must put aside their differences and come together to stop this monster, but first they must find out what Malheur Butte is, and who they are as well. In an abandoned city, in an isolated valley, they have no hope of help, and no way to escape. If they fail, a nuclear strike is less than 8 hours away.

What they find is the impossible. It has one purpose. It kills planets to feed. It is very hungry. They are so very screwed....
